Arson attack in Wardleworth

Police and fire fighters attended a car blaze at a house in Wardleworth in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 10 September). The fire was caused deliberately at around 3.30am, when the engine of the car was set alight on a driveway at a property in Wellington Street.

By the team fire crews arrived the fire had spread to a nearby extension of the house, causing heat and smoke damage to a window and guttering.

The blaze was tackled using a hose reel, breathing apparatus and a positive pressure fan.
