New learning disability newsletter launch

Date published: 10 September 2008

A newsletter created by people with learning disabilities is about to start rolling off the presses. 'SpeakOut!' will give people the opportunity to be at the forefront of service development.

The newsletter, to be officially launched at the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board on 11 September, will bring together the latest news on what people are doing across Rochdale as well as improvements in council, NHS and voluntary services.

Rochdale Council’s cabinet member for health and social care, Councillor Dale Mulgrew said: “There is loads of great stuff going on in the borough for people with learning disabilities. The newsletter will be a great way to tell people what is happening and how they can get more involved.”

The newsletter will use lots of pictures and straightforward language so that it is easy for everyone to understand. To ask for copies, just pop into the Gateway Centre, 2 Kenion St, Rochdale. You can also add your name to the mailing list for future newsletters when you call in.
