NHS AGM attracts local champions

Date published: 05 September 2008

Rochdale’s World Street Dance Champions, Ruthless, will be performing their winning routine at this year’s NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale annual general meeting (AGM). The event will take place on 24 September at the Rochdale Centre for Diversity on Station Road, Rochdale, starting at 6pm.

Ruthless, who train at The Academy in Castleton, fought off fierce competition at the World Street Dance Championships in Blackpool last month. The crew has been together for a year and includes children and young people aged between 10 and 24.

The annual general meeting is open for anyone living in the Rochdale Borough. It’s a chance for local people to hear about the area’s key health developments, as well as view the NHS HMR annual report.

Guests will be able to talk to healthcare staff from local services and meet the Chairman of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, John Pierce. Anyone wishing to ask Mr Pierce a question at the event should visit the NHS HMR website and complete the feedback form.

The event will also give attendees the opportunity to take part in a discussion about what future health services should be as part of the ‘Speak Up. It’s your health’ consultation. A second focus group will also be held to discuss the new NHS Constitution, which is the national document that set’s out the core values of the NHS for the public and NHS employees.

People can secure their place at the event by calling 01706 652824.
