Staff at Norden Co-op have been fundraising for Mind with a sponsored cycle
The team at the Co-op in Norden have raised over £500 for mental health charity Mind after undertaking a sponsored cycle on Saturday (29 August).
The eight members of staff on duty took part outside the store between 10am and 2pm, joined by Paul Ellison, chairman of NEEVA (Norden Environmental and Economic Village Association).
The day saw members of the public enjoying the raffle, tombola, lucky dip and watching the staff pedal to reach their goal.
Store manager Rebecca said: "It is so important especially in the current pandemic and with lots of people needing support, I am sure the money raised will help Mind support people in need in our communities."
Paul added: “I’d like to welcome general managers Rebecca and Tom to the village. It’s great to see their enthusiasm for taking part in community events, which is a big aspect of Norden.”
