A man has had to have 28 stitches to his neck after being attacked with a glass bottle in an unprovoked assault in Rochdale.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 11.30pm on Saturday 30 August.
As the victim went into the Railway Inn public house on Yorkshire Street he was attacked inside by a man with a glass bottle.
He suffered a deep cut to the side of his neck and was taken to Rochdale Infirmary for treatment.
The offender is described as a white man, stocky in build, in his 30s, around 6’0” tall and wearing a light coloured jumper.
Police Constable Jonathan Carter, of Rochdale Police Station, said: "This is a completely brutal and unprovoked assault which I am sure many people would have witnessed.
“The victim suffered a serious injury to his neck, which could have been a lot worse, and I am appealing to anyone that may have seen something to come forward so we can find this man, who is clearly dangerous.”
