Touchstones has produced a booklet showing the 30 + churches, mosques and placed of historical interest which will be open to the public between Thursday 11 and Sunday 14 September for this year's heritage weekend.
In order to boost participation in the Heritage Weekend a prize, sponsored by Rochdale Online, of a Kodak Easyshare C713 digital camera is being offered to each of the two school children who visit the most sites over the weekend.
The children will need to collect a booklet from Touchstones and then have it stamped at each site they visit. The completed book must be returned to Touchstones by 5.00pm on Monday 15 September in order to qualify.
The annual celebration of England’s architecture and culture will take place again from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 September, as Heritage Open Days takes place throughout the country.
Rochdale’s historic buildings open their doors to the public for one weekend for them to discover the heritage of the town and offers a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy some of the most interesting buildings and organisations in the town, all of which was completely free of charge.
Venues include churches, parks, museums, mosques, the Magistrates’ Court and the Town Hall including an Arts and Crafts fair. For more information about the various venues visit the Rochdale Online Events Diary:
