Puttstars indoor golf opens at Riverside this weekend

Date published: 14 August 2020

Puttstars indoor mini golf experience is opening today at Rochdale Riverside, with three nine-hole courses for visitors to choose from.

As well as mini golf, food and drink are available from the bar and diner and Puttstars is registered for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme running until the end of August. The centre also boasts an impressive amusement area with family-favourite games to keep the competitive spirit alive.

Puttstars is on the first floor of the leisure block of the complex, next to the Regal Moon pub.

Part of the Hollywood Bowl Group, the largest bowling operator in the UK, £2.5m has been invested in the Rochdale Puttstars which is only the second to open in the country with the third, in York due to open next week.

Jenny Hares, centre manager at Puttstars Rochdale, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the UK’s second Puttstars venue in Rochdale Riverside. Puttstars will bring a unique mini golf gaming experience for families and groups of friends to enjoy and we can’t wait to welcome them through our doors.

“We are now taking bookings for Rochdale customers to come and enjoy Puttstars and have a hole-lot of fun for themselves!”

With regards to safety, the centre has extensive cleaning and social distancing measures in place. Game booking slots will be limited to control capacity, and amusement machines as well as bar and dining seating will be spaced out, with signage visible throughout the venue.

Guests are encouraged to pre-book their mini golf slot, and groups will be restricted to a maximum of six people.

Upon entering the centre, customers will be expected to use hand sanitiser, which will be readily available at dispensers. Customers will also be given the option of wearing disposable gloves.

Enhanced cleaning will take place throughout the day, including the cleaning of putters, balls, and touch screens in between games.
