Man forced out of his car in Middleton - two charged

Two people have been charged in connection with the robbery of a car in Middleton.
At about 8pm on Friday 29 August, a 76-year-old man was forced out of his car on The Meadows in Alkrington.
The car was later recovered and two people were arrested.
Darren Burns (born 09/08/90) of Ashton Old Road, Openshaw, has been charged with robbery, aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, disqualified driving and driving without insurance.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent and robbery.
Both were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Rochdale Magistrates Court today, Monday 1 September.
