Comedian Jason Manford has announced two shows at the Middleton Arena this October as part of a 140-show tour.
It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show, but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Like Me’ is Jason’s latest comic offering set to hit the road.
Jason said: “After the fun we had on my last tour ‘Muddle Class’, I’m excited to get back on the road with my new stand up show, ‘Like Me’. In these trying times it’s always important to be able to get away for a couple of hours and exercise the old chuckle muscle!”
Jason was a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats until 2010 and as well as his stand up tours he has appeared regularly on Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News For You.
He has presented the Sunday morning slot on Absolute Radio since 2016.
More recently he has been appearing on stage in The Producers in 2015 and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2016/7. He is currently touring the UK as detective Frank Cioffi in the musical Curtains.
Jonathan Higgins, Head of Events and Programming for Link4Life said: “2020 is shaping up to be the venue’s busiest, with a great programme of shows and events for the whole family.
“We are really excited to have secured dates for Jason’s new tour and I’m sure that both nights will sell out quickly.”
Manford is the latest comedian to be announced by the venue for 2020. Gigs with Clinton Baptiste, Ed Byrne and Dave Spikey all feature this year, in a programme that is expanding rapidly and further establishing the 500-seat modern theatre as one of north Manchester’s go-to venues.
Tickets for the shows on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October 2020 go on sale on Friday 28 February.
