A social care provider which supports adults in Rochdale, Future Directions CIC, has won a Skills for Care Accolade for investing in their staff’s training and picked up their trophy from TV dance star Anton Du Beke.

Future Directions won the ‘Best Employer of over 250 staff’ category after coming through a rigorous verification process and the team lifted their trophy at the Accolades award ceremony in London.

Future Directions provides personalised support and care services primarily for people with a learning disability, mainly within supported living services. The ages of the people they support range from young adults to 90 plus.

Paula Braynion, Managing Director at Futures Directions CIC, said: “Everyone who attended the awards ceremony were absolutely delighted when our name was read out, but it is a recognition on a national stage of the hard work our tireless team puts in all year round.

“We are totally committed to making sure our staff can develop their skills and knowledge because we know that means the people we support have genuine choice and control over their lives.”

The Accolades are now in their 17th year recognising organisations who support the learning and development needs of their workers, the competition is open to all 20,300 organisations who offer adult social care in England.

An expert panel of judges were impressed by Future Directions CIC’s energy and commitment that was evident throughout their entry. They said Future Directions CIC showed a focus on excellence, underpinned by strong organisational values bringing together a comprehensive programme of good practice. The judges particularly liked innovation in recruitment methods and the partnerships Future Direction CIC were forming.
