Fabdance Centre's Ava Cosgrove dances to first in debut contest

Date published: 31 January 2020

Ava Cosgrove from Fabdance Centre on Rooley Moor Road danced her way to the top of the leader board at the Inspire freestyle dance competition in Doncaster on Sunday (26 January).

Ava, seven, won the overall first place in the solo freestyle, her first time in competing in a dance contest.

Other Fabdancers also came away from the contest with impressive accolades, including Marshall Wakeling and ‘The Unknown’ freestyle dance team.

Marshall, eight, a pupil at Meanwood Primary School, came an impressive third out of 40 in his freestyle solo in the competition. This was his second time competing in the under 10s section.

The Unknown also won first place in the Under 12s section with a new routine and new costumes, their first time performing this number.

Principal teacher and owner of Fabdance Centre, Fiona Briddon said: “I have always been proud of my girls at the dance school in competitions, but they stole the show, putting us on the map.

“These dancers haven’t been competing for long and they were extremely nervous, but they absolutely smashed it.”
