Community health awareness day at Deeplish Community
An informative community health awareness day took place at Deeplish Community Centre on Monday 16 December.
Attendees had their blood pressure checked and some, who could not get an appointment with their GP, said the session at the community centre was convenient and helped put their mind at ease.
Rochdale Mind, Living Well and Link4Life gave advice to residents, and Link4Life staff provided free gym passes to participants to try and improve their wellbeing through physical fitness programmes and activities at Rochdale Leisure centre.
Maniza Khan, health and wellbeing co-ordinator at Deeplish Community Centre, said: “It was good to see so many people engaging with services, improving wellbeing, keeping active and having an informative and interesting day at Deeplish Community Centre.
“We wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and we look forward working with our learners, users and residents in future weeks and months.”
