Rochdale graduate celebrates Master’s degree

Date published: 25 November 2019

Leena Turner from Rochdale has recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Applied Petroleum Geoscience.

Leena completed her degree in Geology last year at the University of Derby, where she returned for her Master’s degree earlier this year.

She successfully graduated on Thursday (21 November) with a merit in Applied Petroleum Geoscience and said the course was 'amazing'.

Now, she’s looking at applying for graduate jobs in the industry to get started in petroleum geology.

During her year-long Master’s course, she travelled around the UK to areas like Wales, Scarborough and the Peak District to study.

She is looking forward to working in the niche geology field, which she says will also be moving towards renewables in the next year.

Leena also recently completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
