Around 30 young people shared their thoughts on mental health, knife crime and drugs at a recent meeting hosted at the Kashmiri Youth Project by local group All4Youth.

The meeting on 6 October gave youths, aged between 12 and 19, the chance to discuss their concerns and how All4Youth can tackle these issues.

Concerning topics raised included mental health, knife crime and drugs, with a special message being sent in by Mohammed Zafran BEM, the UK's Goodwill Youth & Community Ambassador, supporting the initiative.

All4Youth founder, Hassan Ali, 21, said: “We decided the issues can be tackled in various ways, such as sports like football, cricket and boxing, and activities like residential trips which will build confidence, team building and many more skills. We also discussed seminars delivered by the youths to take place in colleges, schools and community hubs.

“I am proud to see so many youths getting involved, and I encourage schools, colleges and community hubs to get involved and give All4Youth a chance. Our official launch is January 2020 and our team are working hard to make it happen. I thank KYP Chief Executive Khadija Tily for getting involved and Debbie Callaghan.

“Thank you to all our youth coordinators Haseeb Shahid, Vijay Singh, Mohammed Junaid, Irman Mohammed, Harris Ifraz, Zaman Shah and all our team for their continuous work.”

A special message was sent by Mohammed Zafran BEM, the UK's Goodwill Youth and Community Ambassador, supporting the initiative.

The group’s official launch will be an event in Rochdale with comedians, singers and motivational speakers, to explain the objectives of All4Youth.

Based in Rochdale, All4Youth aims to take youths off the streets and into a place of safety. The organisation also provides support and guidance to those suffering from mental health issues, drug/alcohol addiction, bullying, depression, anxiety, and more.

Despite being called ‘All4Youth’, the organisation also raises awareness of what older generations should look out for and how they can support the younger generation.
