Littleborough water leak repaired
Date published: 30 September 2019
A leak causing discoloured water in Littleborough has been repaired.
Reported to United Utilities on Sunday at 8.30pm (29 September) a number of local residents had discovered that the water flowing from their taps was discoloured following a disturbance to the water mains.
The leak was reported at the junction of Laurels Drive and Little Clegg Road.
A spokesman for United Utilities confirmed that the leak was repaired on Monday (30 September).
He added: “Our pipes have naturally occurring sediments and minerals which can get disturbed from the bottom of the pipes every now and then, normally when we have carried out a repair or have replaced a section of water main.
“As the local pipework builds pressure back inside, tap water will return to the whole area.”
