Flood alert in force now for Littleborough and Rochdale
River levels remain high on the Upper Irwell catchment as a result of persistent heavy rainfall and the Flood Information Service is reporting a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the Rivers Beal, Roch and Croal, Limy Water and their tributaries, today, Sunday 29 September.
Further rainfall is forecast over the coming days.
Environment Agency say: ‘We are closely monitoring the situation and will update with further flood alerts if necessary. Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation. This message will be updated as the situation changes.’
