Christmas came early for members of the Middleton Pensioners Association this week. Twelve senior citizens from across the town were treated to a festive Christmas lunch at Hopwood Hall College's Cottons Restaurant.
The annual celebration is one of a host of activities for the group who meet regularly, Councillor Lil Murphy, Association Chairwoman said: "Everyone was certainly in a party mood; the Christmas lunch is one of the highlights on our calendar. During the past year we've been involved in a wide variety of meetings and social events; it's a really friendly group."
Anyone over 60 who would like to find out more about joining the association, who meet monthly at the Civic Centre, can contact Councillor Lil Murphy on 0161 643 6769.
