Youths steal train driver's bag before damaging train in escape

A group of four youths stole a train driver’s bag at Castleton railway station on Thursday (1 August).
They then forced open the train doors at Castleton, damaging them in the process, and ran from the station.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “We were called at 12.43pm following a report of a theft on a train at Castleton rail station. A group of four youths are reported to have stolen a bag from the driver’s cab, before forcing the train doors open and running away.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
