Record-breaking temperature in Rochdale

A record-breaking temperature of 32.7°C has been recorded in the Rochdale borough today, Thursday 25 July.

Today’s temperature breaks both previous records for the hottest July day and the hottest day ever since records began, the Met Office has confirmed.

The hottest day ever recorded in the borough previously was on 9 August 2003, when the mercury reached 31.2°C.

Previously, the hottest July day on record was recorded on 1 July 2015, with a temperature of 31.1°C.
