Lyla Briddon from Fabdance Centre danced her way to the top of the leader board at the Manchester freestyle dance competition in Flixton on Sunday (30 June).

Lyla, 10, won the overall first place in the solo freestyle, after winning her age category and beating all the other age group winners.

Other Fabdancers also came away from the contest with impressive accolades.

Cienna Kyle, five, a pupil at Meanwood Primary School, won her freestyle solo in the freestyle fast dance under six category and also the slow dance in the under six.

Cienna’s big sister Kiera also scooped a first place in rock ‘n’ roll with her dance partner, Lexi Spencer, and placed 2nd in their freestyle pairs.

Millie Davies was awarded second place in the under 14 freestyle fast dance and in her slow dance. She danced with Sholona Coughlan for rock ‘n’ roll and they placed second.

Fiona Briddon, principal teacher and owner of Fabdance Centre, said: “I have always been proud of my girls at the dance school in competitions, but they stole the show, putting Rooley Moor on the map.

“These dancers haven’t been competing for long and they were extremely nervous, but they absolutely smashed it.”
