M62 closed overnight after lorry crash
Date published: 12 August 2008
The Milnrow section of the M62 motorway re-opened earlier this morning (Tuesday 12 August) after parts were closed overnight following a crash between two lorries.
One of the lorries spilled its entire load of diesel at junction 21 after it jack-knifed.
The driver of one of the lorries had serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
The eastbound carriageway of the motorway was closed by police between junction 21, Milnrow, and junction 22, Rishworth Moor until 4am this morning.
The diesel has now been cleaned up and accident investigators spent the night at the scene to try and determine the cause of the accident.
