Date published: 11 August 2008
Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Middleton.
At about 5pm on Friday (8 August), three cars were involved in a collision on Boarshaw Road, Middleton.
The driver of one of the vehicles involved, a green Mitsubishi Lancer, had previously refused to stop when requested by police after driving through red traffic lights on Rochdale Road.
The driver is believed to have travelled along Rochdale Road and Clough Road before colliding with a red Mondeo, which then collided with a blue Seat Ibiza that was parked up.
The driver of the Mondeo suffered minor whiplash as a result of the collision.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until Monday 6 October, pending further inquiries.
In line with procedure Greater Manchester Police's Professional Standards Branch has been informed.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the Mitsubishi in the lead up to the collision to call traffic police on 0161 856 8473.
