Police incident in Smithy Bridge

Smithy Bridge Level Crossing
Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious incident at Smithy Bridge railway station (9pm Monday 1 April).
Smithy Bridge Road is currently closed in both directions. Northern has confirmed train services have been suspended with delays expected.
Rail customers can use Metrolink services between Rochdale and Manchester Victoria and Transpennine Express between Leeds and Todmorden.
Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
