Man remains in hospital with serious injuries after three car collision closes road

Police closed part of Albert Royds Street following the collision
A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision which closed a section of Albert Royds Street on Saturday afternoon (2 March).
Shortly before 1.55pm, police were called to reports of a collision on Albert Royds Road between a black Vauxhall Vectra, a blue Citroen Picasso and a white Mercedes Sprinter.
Officers attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene, but was later de-arrested.
Witnesses reported seeing a passenger of one of the vehicles fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers are keen to trace this man.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with dashcam footage of the collision is asked to come forward to police. Details can be passed on to police by calling 0161 856 8809 quoting incident number 1221 of 04/03/19.
Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
