Love in the air at Rochdale Wedding Show

Date published: 05 March 2019

Catwalk glamour returned to town this weekend when Rochdale Wedding Show was staged on Sunday.

Hundreds of brides and grooms-to-be descended on Rochdale’s Grade I listed Town Hall with their friends and families, looking for inspiration for their perfect day.

35 companies exhibited the latest trends in bridal wear, formal menswear and everything else needed for the big day. The event featured two catwalk shows as models from Lavina Rose Bridal Boutique and Denis Hope highlighted the latest stunning collections of wedding wear.

There was live music from Tim Richardson, The Melody Hub, on the grand piano as well as songs performed by Rochdale singer/songwriter Joe Dunne.

Outside there was a collection of wedding cars to get brides to their venue on time and in style.

Visitors also got the chance to see the town’s Register Office, the ceremony room, enjoy prosecco and cake in the Clock Tower Dining Room and admire the stunning Grade I Victorian Gothic building a popular wedding venue.

Councillor Janet Emsley, the council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture said: “The show was very busy, the town hall looked incredible and there was such a lovely atmosphere. One of our objectives is to encourage people to shop locally for their big day and we are proud to showcase some fantastic businesses which was reflected in the number of follow up leads and orders taken on the day.”
