Rochdale walker found dead in Snowdonia named

The Rochdale walker whose body was found on a Snowdonia mountainside on Sunday (3 August) has been identified.

58-year old Jack White was camping near the Tryfan mountain when it is thought he fell more than 200ft into a gully.

Mountain rescue were informed that he could be missing by the owners of the campsite at which he was staying. A five hour search took place on Sunday after Mr White's rucksack was found on a secluded footpath on Saturday evening.

It is believed that he could have been missing for up to a week.

His family are currently being comforted by relatives. An inquest into his death has been adjourned to a later date.
