This makeshift weapon was discovered in a car abandoned after a police chase in Wardle.
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday (26 February), police were called to reports of vehicles driving dangerously in the village.
One car was later found abandoned on Ralph Sherwin Court after fleeing from police, with the occupants fleeing on foot.
Police recovered the abandoned vehicle, and seized the homemade weapon.
