Man falls from bridge in Newbold

The Metrolink bridge over Milnrow Road
A man fell from a bridge in Newbold during the early hours of Saturday morning (23 February).
At around 3am on Saturday, police were called to Milnrow Road to reports of concern for the welfare of a man stood on the wrong side of a bridge.
Officers attended to engage with the man but he fell from the bridge a short time later.
He was taken to hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life threatening at this time.
