Model engineers and the public met to appreciate and discuss the expertise that exists in the region.

Exhibitors were encouraged to show operating models which were all entered for the MMEX Trophy which was sponsored by Axminster Tools and Machinery.

The MMEX Trophy was awarded to Dave Hall from Blackpool Steam for his fantastic model of a Foden steam lorry.

As well as presenting a wonderful and varied display of their own models, members of the Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers filled key roles in organising the exhibition and ensuring its smooth running.

The Rochdale Society of Model and Experimental Engineers is always pleased to welcome new members of all ages at its meetings and to help run its miniature railway in Springfield Park, which operates most Sunday afternoons weather permitting.

The society now operates a passenger service all through the year and the public are more than welcome to visit the track in Springfield Park.
