Just Music and more....

Date published: 25 February 2019

Rochdale Rotary Club have started a new innovation at Rochdale Parish Church for people to come together and enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits, listen to music and view art from local artists.

Artist Geoff Butterworth will be introducing his paintings with his own choice of music at the first event on Thursday 7 March from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.

David Acton from Rochdale Rotary Club said: “Sit back with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a projected display of paintings and photographs all by talented people from the community and if that's not enough we select and play popular recorded music in the background. All in all, it's an unusual, pleasant experience.

“Come and join us, you will be made very welcome, there has been a church on this site for 1,000 years, come early and look round and take in its history.

“We play some of the world’s greatest recorded music in the perfect surroundings of Rochdale Parish Church. Come and listen; it is a remarkably therapeutic experience.

“It is free of charge, with tea, coffee and biscuits.”

Just Music runs at St Chad's on the first Thursday of every month, 2pm - 3pm and is organised by Rotary Club of Rochdale and Revd Mark Coleman at St Chads.

If you find it enjoyable and know anyone else who might like to do something similar in the following months, the organisers are looking for artists, photographers, soloists, choirs who would like to take part in the fabulous surroundings of Rochdale Parish Church of St Chad's, Church Stile, Rochdale OL16 1FF.

Please talk to the team if you would like to share your choices of music and visual art, contact David on 07831 221 796.
