Co-op Fairtrade Fortnight Coffee morning at Hebron Church cafe
Hebron Church hosted the first Co-op Fairtrade Fortnight Coffee Morning on Friday 22 February.
Members of the local community were invited to come along and sample a range of Co-op Fairtrade products that included tea, coffee, chocolate and banana's at Hebron Church’s café, which is currently being supported as one of Rochdale Co-op's Local Good Causes.
Mayor Mohammed Zaman and Tony Lloyd MP were welcomed to the event and enjoyed talking to local people, both the Mayor and the MP spoke about the ethics of buying Fairtrade products and the positive community focus of the Co-op in Rochdale.
Bev Place, Rochdale Co-op's Member Pioneer said: "It was an absolute honour to welcome our Mayor and MP to the Hebron Church.
“Local residents were thrilled to see them and appreciated the opportunity to talk about local issues.
“The Co-op is passionate about making a difference to communities and events like this are a great way to bring people together.
“I would like to extend my thanks to Rooley Moor Road Co-op for their kind donation of the products used at the Coffee Morning."
