Changes to Liz McInnes MP's advice surgeries

Date published: 08 February 2019

Liz McInnes, MP for Heywood and Middleton, has changed her regular advice surgeries around the constituency to be run on an appointment-only basis.

Ms McInnes said: “We have recently been trying out an appointment system at my MP surgeries.

“The drop-in system which we used to run just wasn’t working efficiently, with many surgeries being so heavily attended that people were having to wait for an hour or longer to be seen. We’ve tried, in the last month, to encourage people to make appointments and we’ve found that this makes the surgeries a lot more efficient.

“Fixed appointment times mean that no-one has to wait in a queue and we’ve found that having prior notification of issues has helped us deal with complaints and problems much more effectively.

“As always, my staff are ready to help with any queries during the week whilst I’m in Parliament and many issues can be resolved without requiring a surgery visit.

“I’m always working to help improve the service provided by my office and I hope that my constituents will find this change to be a helpful one.”

To make an appointment, please ring 01706 361135 during office hours or email liz.mcinnes.mp@parliament.uk.
