Rochdale Connections Trust attend the Holocaust Memorial Commemoration
As part of their ‘Building a Stronger Britain Together’ programme Rochdale Connections Trust took a group of service users to the borough’s annual Holocaust Memorial Day Act of Commemoration and Re-dedication of the Memorial Stone event, which was held at Middleton Arena on Monday (28 January).
Bev Place, Rochdale Connections Trust said: “The event provided an opportunity for the group to learn more about Hitler’s rise to power and subsequent events in Nazi Germany that led to the Holocaust, alongside details about other more recent examples of genocide from across the World.
“Shoulder2Shoulder is Rochdale Connection Trust’s counter extremism programme for members of the local community who may susceptible to narratives that are intended to divide those living in our local community.
“The programme is designed to address lower level extremism that, if left unchallenged, could lead to the division and an erosion of shared values.”
