Survey success as adult care ranked one of the best across the north-west

Staff from across the council's adult care service celebrate the survey results

The quality of care and support delivered by Rochdale Borough Council’s adult care service is one of the best in the north-west.

That was one of the major findings in the National Adult Social Care Survey, which measures how well care and support services are delivered to local residents.

The key national report revealed that nearly 80% of service users were extremely or very satisfied with the care and support provided by Rochdale Council’s adult care service. This was a 6% increase on last year and above the national, north-west and Greater Manchester averages.

In a further boost, eight out ten service users across the borough felt they had good choice and control over their care and support packages provided by the council.

Rochdale was above the national, regional and Greater Manchester average in each of the seven areas recorded in the annual survey, including quality of life, access to information and the number of residents who feel safe and secure due to the services they receive.

A range of adult care services are contributing to the success, including the Home Improvement Agency, which was signalled out as ‘forward-thinking and innovative’ in a key government report, and the pioneering STARS service which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary caring for residents across the borough.

"The national survey is a vital measure how the quality of services we are delivering. A huge thanks to adult care staff for the work they do and to our residents for completing this important survey, which is key measure of adult care’s quality of service delivery across the borough.
