You could save money by switching energy provider during Big Energy Saving Week
Citizens Advice Rochdale is helping local residents to save money on their energy bills this month as part of Big Energy Saving Week (21-27 January).
New figures show that only 20% of households in Rochdale switched their energy supplier last year.
Despite the introduction of a price cap on energy bills at the start of the year, people could still save more than £150 by switching their supplier.
Chief Executive, Jonathan Yates said: “There are many reasons why people may be paying too much for their energy. This week is a great chance for people to get a bit of extra advice and support on how they can save money on their bills.
“If you’re struggling to pay your energy bills or are worried you’re not getting the best deal or just need some advice, our energy champions are on hand to help.”
Energy and Clean Growth Minister Claire Perry, said: “This Big Energy Saving Week is the perfect opportunity to check your bills, use the price comparison tool by Citizens Advice to see if you can get a better deal and switch suppliers and save money. And of course, even if you don’t switch, you will now be protected from rip-off tariffs thanks to the Government’s energy price cap.
“This week will also highlight where consumers can get advice and help if they need it through their local Citizens Advice.”
To support customers to save money on their energy bills, Citizens Advice provides an independent price comparison site:
