Lifesaving defibrillator installed in Ashworth Valley

Date published: 22 January 2019

A defibrillator has been installed in Ashworth Valley after over £1,500 of funding was received by The Friends of Ashworth Valley.

Over the last few years, there have been a number of emergency callouts in Ashworth Valley, leading the Friends group to submit an application, overseen by Zoe Hotchkiss for the vital lifesaving equipment.

The Friends received £1,585 from the Norden Co-op Local Community fund in November 2018.

The vital defibrillator has been installed at Ashworth Cattery, Waterloo Farm on Carr Wood. Derik and Karen Whittle and Dave Poots supplied the fitting and installation of the device, which is also monitored by CCTV.

Zoe said: "It's absolutely brilliant that this piece of kit has been brought to Ashworth Valley. Hopefully we won't need to use it, but now it's there if so."

North West Ambulance Service is willing to provide training for anyone interested in learning the basics of CPR.

Please register your interest with Zoe Hotchkiss on 07812 060 344.
