Middleton man bailed following rape arrest

A man who was arrested following a rape close to Manchester City Centre almost ten years ago has been bailed.
At 6.30am on Wednesday 14 November 2007, officers from Greater Manchester Police's Cold Case Review Unit executed a warrant at an address on Easby Road in Middleton.
A 44-year-old man from Middleton was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been bailed until January 28 2008.
At 9.15pm on Wednesday 7 January 1998, a 41-year-old woman was walking along Oldham Road, close to the junction with Great Ancoats Street in Manchester City Centre. As she walked along she was grabbed from behind by a man who forced her into a back street and raped her.
