Become one of Home-Start Rochdale’s parent volunteers
With a new year comes new opportunities, so give back to the community by becoming one of Home-Start Rochdale’s parent volunteers.
Volunteering with Home-Start Rochdale will offer you a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity to support local families in your community providing practical and emotional support through home visiting.
Parent volunteers can help those suffering from post-natal depression or bonding issues, providing support and an extra pair of hands for a few hours per week.
Support from Home Start can be accessed in several ways, from self-referrals to referrals from a variety of people and places such as health visitors, midwives, GPs, Mind and children’s centres.
Family Support Coordinator Jess Healey said: “Without volunteers, we couldn't support all the families we do.
“Anyone wishing to self-refer is welcome to do so by contacting us via the number on the poster for any families wanting support.”
Home-Start Rochdale is a registered charity which works with local families in times of distress, stopping their problems from spiralling out of control, and often preventing crisis.
Tailor-made emotional and practical support is given by trained parent volunteers to families in their own homes.
Families receive Home-Start support for a whole range of reasons, including poverty, poor mental health, illness and disability and multiple births.
Home-Start’s next course of volunteer preparation will commence on Monday 28 January 2019.
