Black-tie ball to raise money for Save Samantha appeal

Date published: 07 January 2019

A prestigious black-tie cocktail ball to raise vital funds for the Save Samantha appeal will take place in the Great Hall of Rochdale Town Hall on Friday 18 January.

In a night not to be missed, the 2019 Save Samantha New Year Ball includes reception drinks before a delicious three-course meal and an evening of entertainment, including singer to the stars Cole Page, ‘the King of Swing’ and the 10-piece soul band, ‘The Soul Federation’.

The night will also feature a comedian, photobooth and celebrity guests ahead of an auction and raffle to raise much-needed funds towards Samantha Smith’s lifesaving surgery in America later this month.

Sponsor packages are also available: please ask Gwen or Louise on the contact details below for further information.

The Save Samantha appeal was set up to help raise vital funds for Samantha’s operations, after the mother of two’s brain and spinal cord were being crushed under the weight of her own skull due to several medical conditions, including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS).

The brave mum of two from Smithy Bridge faces a ‘lifetime fix’ operation later this month to fuse her spine and must pay the majority of the £250,000 cost in early January, or face cancelling the lifesaving surgery.

The balance needs to be paid within two weeks of discharge.
