Homeless fed on Christmas Day

Councillors, the Mayor and MP Tony Lloyd joined Angie’s Angels charity workers in serving up a little festive cheer on Christmas Day
Senior local politicians helped out at soup kitchen to feed the homeless on Christmas Day.
The Mayor, Rochdale MP Tony Lloyd and Council Leader Allen Brett along with Councillor Faisal Rana volunteered to serve up the festive fayre to some of the town’s needy.
They joined veterans’ charity Angie’s Angels who provide food and support from their base at Champness Hall on Drake Street.
Councillor Rana, who organised the visit, said: “Angie’s team of angels work incredibly hard supporting those in need throughout the year.
“It was a privilege to help out on Christmas Day to ensure no one went without at this special time of year. This hard-working team of volunteers are a real asset to the community.”
