The Christmas party was enjoyed by all
A Christmas party for elderly people receiving care was a smashing success on 13 December.
Led by Helen Wray from Rochdale Borough Council, the party took place at Newtown Social Club in Castleton with the help of local home care agencies, Care-4-U Home Care Agency and Cherish UK.
The party was the latest in a string of similar events organised by the council and the agencies, such as visits to the garden centre and a pub lunch, as part of a collaborative community project to encourage service users to be more active in the local community.
In addition to making make use of existing social activities, the project also aims to recognise a need for any social events or activities that may need to be created.
The project will continue into 2019 and has received funding from the council to do so.
