Kingsway Park students awarded certificates for being Strong, Safe and Resilient

Students from Kingsway Park High School recently participated in the Strong, Safe and Resilient programme by Freedom Personal Safety
Students from Kingsway Park High School recently participated in the Strong, Safe and Resilient programme by Freedom Personal Safety, a social enterprise who work with children and young people, helping them to make safe choices.
A presentation was held in the school where students displayed their work to their parents, school governors and staff. Certificates were then presented by Freedom Personal Safety.
Working with secondary schools in Greater Manchester, Freedom Personal Safety help raise awareness of grooming and sexual exploitation, helping students increase their confidence, tolerance and improve social skills.
The programme consisted of three elements:
- Personal Development – Self-esteem, setting goals and increasing resilience
- Safety awareness – Online safety, understanding of grooming and sexual exploitation and how to keep safe
- Creating a group project – working in small groups to create a project to increase awareness of grooming and sexual exploitation
