The Real Message of Christmas…The birth of Jesus is one of the most wonderful things that has ever happened to the world and really is worth celebrating, but how many realise that Jesus was born to be a king and to rule not only in our hearts but over the whole world, from Jerusalem?

Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:30-33)

Peter Simpson of Rochdale Christadelphians said: “The birth of Jesus is one of the most wonderful things that has ever happened to the world and really is worth celebrating, but how many realise that Jesus was born to be a king and to rule not only in our hearts but over the whole world, from Jerusalem? That’s exactly what we read in the quotation from the gospel of Luke above; it contains some great promises to Mary, Jesus’ mother, given to her before her son was born.

“If like me you think that Christmas sometimes seems to be all about spend, spend, spend, then think about these quotations ‘Godliness with contentment is great gain’ and ‘the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus, the king’.

“Join us at our Christmas services at 4:30pm on Sundays 23 and 30 December at the Christadelphian Hall, 310 Yorkshire Street, OL16 2EF.

“May God bless all those who need him at this time of year!”
