National Theatre perform ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time' at Kingsway Park High School

Kingsway Park High School were proud to host the National Theatre recently, who gave two performances of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time’ as part of the National Theatre schools' tour. 

The performances were amazing; quality drama which was both entertaining and thought-provoking with both the students and staff talking about it for days afterwards.

One of the Year 11 students commented: ‘’I realised that this was the best performance I'd ever seen. I now prefer theatre to movies.’’

After the performance, the students discussed the show during their Drama lessons with some students sharing their own personal experiences of autism, stating that they loved the humour and physical theatre.

Liz Phillips, Head of Creative and Performing Arts, at Kingsway Park High School, commented that she was extremely proud to host the Theatre.

She said: ‘”Students were able to experience quality drama and their fantastic response made all the hard work worth it.

It really did create a buzz around school and was an amazing experience for the students and the staff.’’

Guests who also attended the performance included: KPHS Chair of Governors, Councillor Heakin, The Lowry Theatre in Salford and the M6 Theatre Company.

Through Live Nation, a three-year partnership with the National Theatre and The Lowry, Kingsway Park High School can look forward to other exciting opportunities for their students in the future
