Karting champion Seb Moore to raise money for the homeless by completing 50 non-stop laps of karting track

Date published: 18 December 2018

Seven-year-old karting sensation Seb Moore is aiming to raise £300 for the homeless by completing a gruelling 50 non-stop laps of the Team Karting track before Christmas.

Seb, from Newhey, will take on the challenge for local homeless charity Petrus on Thursday (20 December)

Last Christmas, the little boy was moved to tears after seeing a homeless man sat outside a supermarket, upset he would spend the festive period on the streets.

Since then, Seb has wanted to help those who are less fortunate, especially those who have no home to go to over Christmas.

The BKC National Vice-Champion is also asking for donations of hats, gloves and scarves, winter socks, warm shoes and boots plus winter and outdoor clothes to be distributed to Rochdale’s homeless, which can be dropped off at two locations:

  • Launderease – 517 Market Street, Whitworth, OL12 8QN
  • Team Karting – Ensor mill, Queensway, OL11 2NU

Following a family holiday to Spain in September 2017, Seb tried his hand at the local kart track on the hire karts. He instantly became hooked and the journey began.

On returning, Seb attended Team Karting in Rochdale where he began to learn the art of the sport.
