Help Santa create a little magic for children living in poverty and care
With just a few days left to donate, the Satirical website, The Rochdale Herald, is asking people to support their Christmas Toy Appeal, the Big Fat Secret Santa Appeal.
A spokesperson for Satire Aid said: “We’re once again buying gifts for children throughout the UK in care, poverty and crisis this Christmas.
“We have been helping many UK charities by setting up a wishlist, people go onto the list and the gifts are sent directly to the UK charities listed on SatireAid.com.
“It’s a very quick and easy way for people to help these charities, often in the days leading up to Christmas people are busy and might not have time to go down to their local toy drives, therefore Satire Aid provides people with an easy option to go online and choose a gift that’s sent directly for a child in poverty.
“Our appeal is at almost £30,000 worth of presents so far this year, but last year we helped over 26,000 children across the UK at a total of £175,000 - we want to smash that target in the next five days.
“In November, the wonderful people at Rochdale Online kindly published this article.
“The effect was instantaneous! Within two hours, readers rushed to our wishlist to buy lots of lovely prezzies for impoverished children and the running total jumped by over £1,500!
“But we need your help again please, for such a great cause.”
Readers will be able to donate through the gift list until 22 December: choose your presents and purchase the gift which will be sent directly from Amazon to the Toy Appeal Charity where it will be sorted by volunteers and will make it into the hands of a child on Christmas morning.
