Liz McInnes MP makes the world better with a sweater

Date published: 15 December 2018

Liz McInnes, Member of Parliament for Heywood and Middleton, has popped on a pullover and posed for a photo to mark her support for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign which took place on Friday 14 December.

Since its launch in 2012 the fundraising event has raised over £17million for the world’s most vulnerable children. Over 5 million people across the UK were set to take part this year with schools, homes and offices ditching their day-to-day dress and donning their daftest, most wonderful woollies for the annual fundraiser. From knits festooned in jingling bells to jumpers covered in lights, Save the Children is hoping that 2018 will be the biggest, silliest Christmas Jumper Day ever.

Liz McInnes MP says: “I'm delighted to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign. It’s a fantastic charity that does so much good, raising money and awareness for children here in the UK and around the world. To support this terrific cause please text DONATE to 70050 to donate £2.

"People up and down the UK will be pulling on a Christmas jumper today in aid of the charity, helping create a brighter future for children, and it’s great to be a part of it.”

By supporting Save the Children and taking part in Christmas Jumper Day people can give children living in poverty here in the UK the chance to fulfil their potential, and also help to save lives in some of the toughest parts of the world.
