Molesworths welcomed Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, to their business networking at Hopwood Hall College, Middleton on 6 December.
Andy addressed over 80 local business and community leaders and described in detail why he believes the Greater Manchester region will be at the forefront of technological, industrial and commercial development for many years.
Known for his passionate support of local people and their communities, Andy explained how businesses and communities can continue to flourish by supporting one another, and he cited the success of the “Bed Every Night” project, which aims to eradicate homelessness in our region, as an example of what can be achieved by mutual support.
Delegates also heard from Chris Kastins, the Head of Care at the newly established Grace’s Place Children’s Hospice in Radcliffe. Chris gave a deeply moving presentation about the care she and her colleagues will be providing to the children of Greater Manchester, following which Mayor Burnham indicated that his office would lend its support to the work of Grace’s Place.
Feedback from delegates after the event included comments such as “great speakers and excellent interaction” and “it was a superb event organised by superb advocates of Rochdale”.
