Rochdale Community Partnership raising funds for Meals on Wheels

Date published: 27 November 2018

Rochdale Community Partnership needs your help to raise funds to issue a door to door meal service, providing for individuals and families within the borough who desperately need a helping hand.

Mohammed Sheraz, a member of Rochdale Community Partnership who has worked in the community for the past 25 years, said: “We are forever grateful for the individuals, businesses and organisations that give us their kind contributions and help us sustain the soup kitchen.

“This van may seem like something impossible, but it is possible. Let’s start the campaign for this vital facility for families, older people, disabled people and any person that is struggling to make ends meet.

“Our target is to raise £5,000 to find an appropriate minibus or van. If we could get 500 people to donate £10 each then we could really achieve something great for those people who need aid.

“The transport bought with this money will be used to distribute food to families in Rochdale that are struggling but can’t make it to the foodbank or other places that offer services to help them. It can also be used for shopping trips to help disabled families.

“We want to encourage schools, businesses, organisations and anyone else interested to help us. We are always open to working with other groups.

“The quicker we can raise our target, the quicker we can achieve an invaluable service. We are not the heroes we’re just the facilitators, it’s the people who donate that are crucial.”

Rochdale Community Partnership is a registered charity with the ambition to provide much needed services to the community through their projects such as Rochdale Soup Kitchen.
