Friends of Ashworth Valley receive funds for life-saving defibrillator

Date published: 27 November 2018

The Friends of Ashworth Valley have received £1,585 from the Norden Co-op Local Community fund towards a new defibrillator.

Over the last few years, there have been a number of emergency callouts in Ashworth Valley, leading the Friends group to submit an application for the vital lifesaving equipment.

Zoe Hotchkiss, who oversaw the funding application, said: “We submitted our application 12 months ago to provide a defibrillator available for use to potentially save lives in our local area.

“We are taking advice from The North West Ambulance Service, regarding the location.

“The ambulance service is also willing to provide training for anyone interested in learning the basics of CPR.”
